The List formatting block is used to more efficiently display a list of items in your content. The Terry CMS editor create lists of text items in either a bulleted or numbered format. The List block provides the following list formats:

Numbered Lists

To create a list, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new placeholder for a block. The placeholder text (“Type / to choose a block”) is displayed.

  2. Type /list in the placeholder. A list of heading block options is displayed.

  3. Select the List block. The toolbar for the List block is displayed.

  4. By default, the List block is set to bulleted lists. If you want to create a bulleted list, enter the text, then press enter to create another row in the list.

If you instead want to create a numbered list, follow the remaining steps.

  1. To create a numbered list,

  1. Click the numbered text button in the editor to display 1. This is where the first line of numbered text is entered.

  2. Press Enter to start a second line of text. This line automatically displays 2. Each time you press enter, the following line is automatically numbered.

  3. To end automatic numbering, press enter twice.

Bulleted Lists

Bulleted lists are used to list content in bullets. This is useful for breaking down large amounts of content into more readable information.

  1. click Select List in the toolbar (the leftmost option). The list options are displayed.

  2. Click the Ordered List icon. The list is converted to a numbered list (the bullets change to numbers).

    Note: A list type can be selected before the list text is created, or the list text can be created and then converted into the desired list type as demonstrated in the steps above.

  3. Enter the text, then press Enter to create another row in the list. Numbering is automatically applied.

Reordering Lists

List items can be reordered without copying and pasting text. To move a list item, follow these steps:

After entering text in the first line, press Enter to create another bulleted line.

To end automatic bulleted lists, press enter twice.

Converting Text to Lists

Existing text can be converted to lists by highlighting the text and selecting the list type in the editor toolbar. Each paragraph of highlighted text (meaning each line separated by pressing Enter) is reformatted as a separate list item.

  2. Use the Up and Down arrows to move the list item to the desired location. Numbering is automatically updated if you are reordering a numbered list.

    For longer lists, click and hold the Drag icon (the icon with six dots), then move the list item to the desired location.

 Deleting List Items

To delete a list item but not the entire list, follow these steps:

  1. Click the list item you want to delete.

  2. Click the Options icon in the formatting toolbar (the rightmost icon with three dots). A menu of options is displayed.

  3. Click Delete. The list item is removed from the list. The remaining list items are not deleted.
