Help, the audio is not working in my classroom!

Many of you have faced this challenge in the classroom recently. The root cause of this problem is a programming design decision. It made sense at the time (although I can’t remember want sense it made) but we were clearly wrong about that decision. The non-intuitive nature of the audio operations in the BLC classroom has caused much confusion.

Audio routing in the BLC Classrooms:

  • If you blank a projector, audio is muted (the root cause of the problem)

  • If you select “auxiliary audio”, the audio to/from the PC is muted.

The remedy:

To restore audio in the room, reroute a monitor to a projector or the confidence monitor.

To fix this go to the Display Tab

  1. Touch Monitor 1

  1. Touch Confidence Monitor

Even though this was already set, it will force a reroute of the audio signal.

We are looking to have this reprogrammed for the Spring semester to be more obvious in the control intentions.
