Dewey is an academic research data platform for accessing data for academic research. It provides access to third-party quantitative and geospatial datasets across a variety of data categories, including behavioral economics, corporate finance, marketing, real estate, public policy, real estate, urban planning, weather, workforce management, marketing, urban planning, behavioral economics, and weather. Featured datasets include SafeGraph, Advan Research, dataplor.

How to Access Dewey

Dewey’s platform allows any user to log in to view summaries of the available data and download samples. Terry’s subscription, which is available to all current Terry faculty, students, and researchers, allows for downloads of data included in our subscription and/or purchase additional datasets at an academic discount. Access to Terry’s Dewey subscription data requires the following steps:

  1. Register: Go to https://app.deweydata.io/ and register for a Dewey account using your UGA email address (MyID@uga.edu). You'll have immediate access to summaries and samples of all datasets in Dewey.

  2. Approval: A Dewey administrator will upgrade your account with the Terry subscription and send you an email notification to alert you of the change to your account. Approval may take up to 48 hours.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Access to Terry’s subscription is available to current Terry faculty, students, and staff only. If you are not Terry faculty, please contact Peter Newberry at pwnewberry@uga.edu.

  2. Users may use the data in collaboration with external, university-affiliated co-authors but must notify onboarding@deweydata.io and Peter Newberry at pwnewberry@uga.edu beforehand. External collaborators will be granted Dewey access directly, but Terry is limited to the number of total external collaborators that can be included under our license.

  3. If Terry’s license to Dewey Data ends, users must delete any data downloaded from Dewey Data. However, data access may be extended if it is needed for a publication that was accepted for publication at the time the subscription ended or if required by a funder or open science mandate to retain the data (Dewey Data may request documented proof).

  4. Users cannot compare/verify/evaluate Dewey’s data with other sources and publish those findings elsewhere.

  5. Users cannot publish the data in raw form.

  • Top Liquid Bond Prices and Liquidity Indicators — Professional grade feed of intraday bid-ask prices, spreads, and liquidity indicators for the most liquid USD-denominated High Grade, High Yield, and EM Sovereign bonds, enriched with market consensus T-benchmarks and essential bond and issuer information.

Aggregated foot traffic and mobility data for the U.S. and Canada

  • Weekly and Monthly Patterns — Aggregated raw counts of visits to POIs from a panel of mobile devices over a given month or week, detailing how often people visit, how long they stay, where they came from, where else they go, and more.

  • Neighborhood Patterns — Footfall data aggregated by census block group (CBG) in the U.S. and dissemination area (DA) in Canada over the course of a month, showing how the population moves between different areas in terms of both volume and frequency.
